This past Sunday the Carolina Beach Mural Project hosted the 2nd Annual Fancy Pants Croquet Soiree at Mike Chappell Park. 44 duos broke out their best attire to compete and be the first to “peg out” for a chance to win a week-long stay in Cabo San Lucas for 2 and four tickets to the Beach Music Festival! Players and spectators enjoyed live music from MadSol, beverages from Nauit Dog, Good Hops, Deep Eddy Vodka, and Malama Cafe while Wheelz Pizza provided food. In the end “The Hurricanes” took the top title and since they originally donated the trip for two, they presented second place “Tim & Tonic” with the trip to Cabo!
Special thanks to this year’s sponsors: Deep Eddy Vodka, Nauti Dog, Go Auto, Good Hops, Hurricane Alley’s, Carolina Beach Bar Club, Edward Jones, Island Print & Promo, Kim & Vince Lost, Susan & Lynn Barbee, Pleasure Island Cleaners, Pleasure Island Jeep Jam, Terri Smith and London Fog Transit.
Proceeds from the event benefit the Carolina Beach Mural Project, a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization that celebrates Carolina Beach’s rich history through Public Art. To date, the organization has installed 13 murals with 3+ planned in 2023.
